Metal Braces
Due to a host of advancements in dental technology, traditional metal braces are now lighter, more comfortable, and more affordable. We recognize that it’s important to give you choices when it comes to orthodontics, and we know that traditional metal braces can be the perfect option for some patients.
When you choose conventional braces, you’re choosing a durable, affordable form of orthodontia that is used to correct many different types of orthodontic problems. We are happy to provide this option for patients who may not be good candidates for other types of braces.
You can also customize these braces to fit your personality or moods because we offer many different colors of elastic bands. Teens especially will love the opportunity to show off their personal style.
If you have questions about traditional metal braces, please give us a call, so we can schedule a consultation.
Am I A Good Candidate For Traditional Braces?
If you have jaw alignment issues, crowded or gapped teeth, or bite issues, traditional braces can be a great way to correct these problems. These braces are worn by both adults and teens and are crafted with high-grade stainless steel.
Receiving Your New Braces
After your initial exam, we’ll create a treatment plan that is unique to you, addressing your individual smile goals. We’ll then prepare and clean your teeth before we place your new braces. We begin by placing a bonding agent on your teeth and then carefully applying the metal brackets.
After the brackets have bonded to your teeth, we’ll thread the arch wires through. The fun part comes next, when you get to choose the color or colors of your elastic bands. We use these elastic bands to keep your arch wires attached to your metal brackets.
We’ll educate you on how to care for your braces and your teeth, so you can maintain great oral health. We’ll also talk about foods to avoid and effective ways to floss and brush. You will return to our office every six weeks or so for adjustments to your braces. At these appointments, we can continue to keep your teeth moving in the right direction!
If you’ve been considering getting your teeth straightened, please give us a call today. We’d love to get you started with new braces. A fresh, new smile is just around the corner!
